  • Studio Master Tape Conversion Rates
      Note: Due to the additional effort, and care require when working with master tapes (Tape-Baking for old Ampex 456 tape, working with poor quality mixes, brittle leader tape, and badly shedding tape, etc), we simply need to charge more for this process than we do for our normal consumer open reel tapes.

  • Service and Modification Rates and Procedures
    • Estimate Fee
      This is a one time, flat, non-refundable $45 which will be credited towards your final invoice, if you should decide to provide us with the authorization to work on your equipment.
    • Labor and Engineering Rates
      All Labor and Engineering time will be billed at a rate of $80 per hour.
    • Scheduling Equipment for Service
      We are a very small operation and we have limited space. And we have found that it works best for us not to be distracted by too many projects at a given time. So, we absolutely require that you contact us to make an appointment before sending any pieces of equipment to us. Then we will provide you with a Waiting Queue Number, and with an estimate of how soon we will be able to look at your equipment. When your number comes-up, we will email you an invoice for the initial estimate fees. Once you have paid these fees, we will email you an Acceptance Authorization Number, along with instructions about how to best ship-us your equipment.
    • Getting Equipment Serviced by Us
      We require that we receive your $45 estimate fee before you ship anything to us. This is simply an attempt to try to protect us from equipment being abandoned, when customers decide to decline our estimate, and not pay. Upon receipt of your equipment, we will immediately unpack and examine the equipment, promptly acknowledge receipt, and have our written estimate prepared and sent to you via email, within 7 business days.
      • Step 1: Email-Us with the Make and Model Number of the specific piece of equipment that you are interested in having serviced. Please provide us with the following information:
        • The specific Make and Model Number of the equipment.
        • The type of equipment that this is (eg: Tube Amp, Preamp, Reel to Reel tape deck etc).
        • If you know what is wrong, then please tell us in as much detail as you can.
        • If you don't know what is wrong, then please describe the symptoms of the problem in as much detail as possible.
        • If there are specific cosmetic parts that you know are damaged, please describe them in as much detail as you can.
        • If nothing is wrong, and you just want the unit modified, then please tell us what exactly you have in mind. Or if you would like, we can usually make some recommendations about what sorts of changes might make the most sense for you.
      • Step 2: If we agree to work on this unit, we will provide you with a Waiting Queue Number, and with an estimate of how soon we will be able to look at your equipment.
      • Step 3: When your order number comes-up, we will email you an invoice for the initial estimate fees.
      • Step 4: Once you have paid these fees, we will email you with an Acceptance Authorization Number, along with instructions regarding how to best ship your equipment to us.

  • Payments
    We accept all major Credit Cards, Paypal, Postal Money Orders, and Checks. However, In the case of all checks, we require a 10 day waiting period for the check to clear prior shipping your gear.
